About The Chef
Erik Lourens has been cooking since he was four. He always knew he wanted to make a career in the kitchen, and chose to watch PBS cooking shows over cartoons any day. After attending Montachusett Vocational Technical School's Culinary Arts program in high school, Erik graduated with honors from Johnson and Wales University traveling from the Charlotte, North Carolina Campus to Providence, Rhode Island. Erik worked his way up from the high school kitchen, through work at various restaurants and country clubs. Erik currently calls the renowned Bedford Village Inn home. At BVI he works in each of their restaurants, and manages a large staff of other chefs. Even as he builds his impressive resume, he continues to love cooking for friends and family. You can spot him any night, (that's he's not working), manning the grill, and making even the simplest of meals, simply outstanding.
